Q. What is a Power Over Ethernet?

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology for delivering DC power to devices over Passive Network Cable- Cat6 Copper ethernet type cable, without the need for separate power supplies and outlets. A PoE Switch can supply requested power supply by the end point devices such as IP Telephone Sets, Wireless Access Points, IP CCTV Cameras or Industrial Networked Devices & Machines. The Network Switch is responsible to carry the data where as a PoE switch can deploy both Data and Power together in one single cable. So, it can also reduce the budget for Power Supply and makes the work simple and faster during installations. PoE Switch are widely used for the deployment of network devices where power outlets are hard to receive or don't have power supply. The PoE Network Switch play vital role for the Network Infrastructures.
